The Path Through Adversity

Like doing month-end inventory, the only way to get credit for the product you have purchased and not yet sold is to count it. Take stock of all you’ve been through and understand that adversity and challenge offer valuable insight.

Your past experiences both setbacks and success can help you find your inner strength and resilience. Process and make peace but don’t lose your enthusiasm.

Every adversity and challenge has the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit. This fuels opportunity and propels accomplishment. I have learned a lot through adversity and setbacks. If it wasn’t for the team members who left me for another restaurant or the tough conversations I have had to have in my career, I would not be the leader I am striving to be today.

The world offers many lessons and if we are open to listening and learning from them, we can be exceptional lifelong students. Offering open and honest dialogue from your 360 degrees of influence will create a fostering environment to grow from. Hearing what we don’t want to hear but need to hear is what truly gets us to where are trying to head. Keep your ears open, your eyes ahead, and your feet moving forward!
